Gentamicin Assays

Gentamicin assays are available during the working day Mon-Fri 9-00am-5-00pm for results to be available on the same day.

Gentamicin assays are also available on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday mornings only between 9-00 and 10-30am for results to be available the same day (only urgent specimens are processed on Sundays/Bank Hoildays).

Which gentamicin dosing regimen is being used?

• Once daily gentamicin (5mg/kg) - recommended
  • Practicalities of taking a sample for antibiotic assay
  • Completing the assay request card.
  • Target range and results interpretation.
